As I study evangelicals, I see Bush is a phony Christian. Oh he talks the talk all right and panders to the rightwing Christian zealots, but his speeches include many of the code words chosen to turn on the brainwashed cultish far reight evangelicals and it's so deliberately manipulative, it's clear it doesn't come from his heart, but from Madison Avenue type planning.

Besides, like many evangelical leaders, Bush's actions are usually un-Christian. Rarely does he ever show real interest in love, peace, tolerance, charity or forgiveness. And when he does, it's usually phony, like "No Child Left Behind" which is in actuality a under-funded mandate designed to punish the teacher's union and wastes schools' time teaching to the tests.

If you want an honest look at Bush's heart, look at what he does when he's unprepared. The Tsunami hits. Hundreds of thousands of poor people are killed and devastated. A real Christian would open up wide with generosity. Bush's reaction, "I'll send 12 million". A pittance.
