As far as I can tell, Iraq's violence consists of:

- criminals: kidnapping, ratting on your innocent neighbor, theft and general mayhem...imagine if there were no police guarding your rubble-strewn city for two years

- insurgents: much better organized as they are using Iraq as a training ground. The US Military admits they are shocked (shocked I tell you!) by the coordinated attack on Abu Gharib and the big uptick in violence since the lull of the elections.

The insurgents are fighting for what they believe are their futures. If someone came and told you that you were now going to be a second class citizen for the rest of your life in your own country, what the heck would you do? Sit down and take it?

Don't think so.
