In 1970 I was in Idaho, up near the Canadian border. I never saw San Francisco until 2000 when I was there on business. Most of what I know about it I got from Rod McKuen's poetry.

I never indulged in the hippie movement. The closest I ever got was to grow a mustache and wear a leisure suit.

I did spend one summer in Woodstock NY, but that was the year before the great love-in trashed it.
