Thanks, there is no question in my mind that R&D in developing renewable energy sources as an alternative to fossil fuel has a long way to go and will at the end be more energy efficient.

The problem I see is that on a relative basis little is invested to develop those sources. After all the Sun is providing most of the energy to our planet if directly or indirectly and we fail to use it properly.

One simple example is solar collector for warm water and air conditioning - very low tech and low efficiency and not well supported by tax incentive to increase efficiency and abundance of deployment.
