Ain't that the truth! I remember back in the Spring of 2003 when there was the controversy over Iraqi WMDs raging in the U.S., a Pentagon spokesman said that liberals might demand to know the truth about the existence of WMDs. Imagine that, wanting to know the truth about why a war was fought is actually derided and ridiculed?!? Tells you a lot about their demented mentality over at the Pentagon.

We've become a nation of propaganda. Unfortunately, for us Democrats and other moderates, the rightwing has mastered the art of American propaganda and have the American people under their trance, which is how they maintain power. They have the upper hand, as they have all the government resources and power at their disposal, as well as a well financed propaganda network such as talk radio.

It is really an Orwellian sort of propaganda system. Wanting to actually know the truth about an important government initiative is bad in Orwellian America. Whistleblowers and truthseekers are demonized. Anyone who questions the sometimes utterly absurd official version of events is called crazy (as many are on in the 9/11 Truth Movement) or brandished anti-Americans of some sort or another (communists?). It's a totalititarian mindset that doesn't allow for even questioning the official version of events without being labeled either crazy or unpatrotic. Hats off to the Republican right, in a cynical way, for mastering the an American form of totalititarianism.
