Words do have meaning -- political isolationism is our policy. In time, we will become more economically isolated as political isolation undermines our stature in the global economy -- that combined with absolutely irresponsible economic policies that have created outrageous and unsustainable government deficits that are on track to wipe out the value of the American dollar. Isolationism serves Bush well -- in terms of pandering to his base in the short run. But measured in terms of the cost to American and the damage done to the world, political isolationism is pure poison. Call it what it is -- political isolationism.
