Whatever. Clinton was trying to control North Korea by handing them candy and it seemed to be working. Then, Bush came to office and the first thing he did was end that program and antagnoize North Korea. So, instead of having a dialog with them and keeping tabs on their nuclear program, the sites were sealed and the UN was monitoring, North Korea went on it's own, with no incentive any longer to comply and started rebuilding its nuclear program. I knew that was a bonehead move by Bush the minute I heard him announce it. This is the rotten fruit of that policy change. We should have just normalized relations with North Korea and made them another trading partner. Friends don't threaten other friends with missles. We are friends with the equally ruthless Chinese Communists, I don't see how being friends with North Korea would make any difference, except to keep their nuclear ambitions in check.
