TobagoJack, Re: politicians. You may be mistaken if you believe that Washington politicians are actually trying to benefit the American public in any of their actions with regard to foreign policy. They are playing to the world stage and really don't give a damn about their home country. And its been this way for a long time, the last American President who truly tried to represent American interests in the world was Calvin Coolidge though Reagan and even JFK had a nationalist streak.

That doesn't mean that our leading politicians are out to help China, either. If their globalist counterparts in Europe and elsewhere, with whom they are closely networked, decide that China is becoming a nuisance then they will act accordingly.

When it comes to foreign policy there is really no difference between Bush or his father before him and Clinton or Kerry for that matter. No difference. There are some differences in their domestic policy though not near as much as all the rhetoric would suggest. And this has a long history, Woodrow Wilson was of the current variety as was FDR and every US president since.

A cousin married into the Jimmy Carter family and a whole bunch of people I have know all my life went to Washington with Carter and stayed for the duration. The things these people have come to believe in will make your hair stand on end. A leading Filipino, Mexican or Indonesian politician acts mainly in the interest of his countrymen, however mistakenly. I would assume the same is true in China. And I am sure that when such people go to say a ASEAN conference or visit the UN or some such that they may begin to think that they are "saving the world" ect. but when they get back home and are surrounded by only their countrymen they come back down to reality. That doesn't happen with these we have here; they are in permanent "save the world" mode.

J6P hasn't suffered a real disaster yet but if the country had been run by a bunch of men with the Calvin Coolidge worldview I think that J6P's lot would have been much better. And I truly believe that if these "one-worlders" of the current variety really screw up then afterwards we will be led by more practical and sober minded men wearing military uniforms. And who knows, we might be better off.
