VANCOUVER, May 2 /CNW/ - CIBT School of Business & Technology Corp. ("CIBT"), a subsidiary of Capital Alliance Group Inc. (TSX.V: CPT) and a leading business school in China, reports on the grand opening of CIBT Beihai International Management School ("CIBT Beihai") in Weifang City, China. In October 2004, CIBT acquired 60% control of Beihai Management School from Weifang University of Weifang city, Shandong province of China. Subsequent to the acquisition, Beihai Management School changed its name to CIBT Beihai International Management School.
After extensive renovations and preparation, CIBT Beihai officially opened its doors last month. China's Party Secretary to Shangdong Province and the Vice Mayor to Weifang City attended the grand opening ceremony, along with news reporters from local and regional newspapers and television stations. The CIBT Beihai campus is a self-standing building situated in Weifang University, which is the largest state-owned university in Weifang City with a population of 8.5 million people. CIBT Beihai campus encompasses approximately 50,000 square feet of classroom and facilities expandable to 330,000 square feet, and is capable of handling from 4,000 to 7,000 students. The campus is fully furnished with satellite delivery system, advanced broadband connection, on-line and traditional libraries, computer labs, lecture halls and other amenities. CIBT Beihai students have full access to Weifang University's library, dining hall, student and faculty dormitories comprised of over 10,000 apartments, and all recreational facilities such as a track and field, a gymnasium and swimming pools. Since the acquisition, CIBT Beihai has enrolled 507 full time students and 120 part time students for its on-line programs.
As of Q-1, March 31st, 2005, CIBT's total enrollment from all campuses in China totaled 1,603 students, an increase of 42% over the same period of the prior year.
