You make some large assumptions, most not true, I lost my butt at daytrading, and I work for a living. I do fundimental analysis and invest accordingly. Fundimental analysis while booring sounding does not lead to necessarily mundain profits. I arranged my work day so that I work nights so I can while away the days shooting the s___ with people like you and watching my little stake grow.

You are right about the borrowing on credit cards etc. My son invested in the same stock I am invested in and borrowed a couple of thousand on his credit card to put with the couple he had. He;s up 212% in a little over a month. But then again he has already paid the credit card back.

For the NASDAQ 1987 was not the biggest correction in the last 25 years. It had the most lasting effect as it dropped the trend line 30% or so while all of the others just caught back up in a couple of years.

You asked if were invested in the market in 1987 no, but I was in business for my self and I went bankrupt because of a combination of the 1987 crash, and the 1987-1988 Oil glut. Wish I had of invested the 100K in the market in 1986 instead of the business I did invest in. Even with that crash I would be a multiple millionare a few times over by now.
