Re: the CP4500:
There's no extra lens needed to shoot in macro.
You just put the camera into close-up mode
(it has 4 ways of using the camera, and the "mode" system
is one of those ways).
Once it is in close-up mode, there is a focus range
that is "macro", so you just stay within that when
adjusting the focus. I've had a lot of practice with
shooting insects so I can focus the camera in a second or two.
(Have probably shot well over 100K photos of insects).
I have a very unusual system for shooting.. I move the camera
rather than change the focus. Difficult to explain,
but it makes sense once you understand what i'm doing.
I also only ever shoot using the LCD screen
and always with the camera at arm's length
while watching the insects in my screen.
Gets the results I'm looking for.
Not sure if I'll be able to work out a system for the CP8800
that will work as well for insect macros.
Guess that remains to be seen.
If anyone can make it do that, it will be me, i suppose. (-:
