"Why should American people trust the Democrats [on Social Security] if you don't have a specific plan?"

I don't know if the public should trust ANY of the Big Government, Big Deficit, Big Spending inside-the-beltway crowd these days.

But, it's probably fair to point out that the *last* major reform of the SS system had bipartisan support (from a Democrat-controlled Congress and a Republican President), and that the FAR GREATER FISCAL MESS of Medicare/Medicaid (not to mention what will soon be *LARGER* then both SS and Medicare/Medicaid put together: interest on the national debt...) seems to have NO ONE in office taking action, or proposing legislative solutions.

So, it's probably just hypocrisy to scream that 'the opposition refuses to propose a plan' when one's own group also refuses to propose solutions for even BIGGER, more SERIOUS problems.
