One very interesting thing I've noticed lately is how many mainland Chinese are now living in the US. Voting with their feet. The government has liberalized travel quite a bit, apparently. One hand not knowing what the other is doing, maybe. Also, I've noticed that if you ask a Taiwanese person if they are Chinese, they say, "no, Taiwanese." Hopefully the racist xenophobic hate-mongers will remain in China or go back to China.
