As for Coolidge one of the few things to arouse the Vermont native was the plight of the Black. In his day most Blacks were Republican due to Lincoln. Vermont had no KKK unlike Indiana. Not that the KKK or Fascism were not unjustifiable reactions to conditions of the times, but just the facts.

I agree with you quite a bit but not with this.
