WW2, Hitler different war. Hitler was actually a threat to our national sovereignty.

Viet Nam was not a threat to us. Simple enough. Why do we engage in wars with countries that are not a threat to us?
Viet Nam was a disaster in every possible measure. It was a war that should have never been fought. The Domino Theory was bogus and never held up after the war ended. Not fighting Hitler might have resulted in German occupation.

Keep things in perspective.

I'm particularily troubled by our post-cold war militarism. I thought that with the cold war finally over, perhaps we could finally start spending money to improve our own country, but I was wrong. Too bad for me and everyone else who lives in this country who could benefit from domestic spending priorities for a change. We could build a first class country with all our wealth, but squander it on war and other such nonsense.

Think of how $300 Billion could have improved THIS country over the past 2 years!!! Amazing how outwardly focused we are as a nation. Americans would be livid if their state sent their tax monies to another state for rebuilding, but we tollerate the same exact behavior on the federal level? Go figure?!?
