Christians aren't right wing fascists. This author is deliberately trying to establish this type of sterotype and so are plenty of other enemies of the United States. (80% of people in US identify themselves as Christians).

Overall, way too simplistic article that leaves out the true roots of the Nazi Ideology. Hitler was no Churchgoer for starters. While born Catholic, he never went to church past childhood and when he was leader of Germany, he persecuted Protestant ministers, executing many, imprisoning many, and replacing himself for worship in all remaining churches.

In addition this statement, " belief in your country’s exceptionality takes you way out beyond the warm self-appreciation of patriotism; in naming your heritage “exceptional,” you cut your ties to the family of nations and set yourself above the rules." isn't accurate. In Germany, they were uniting the "Aryan German people" from any country, not just Germany.

Additionally this statement is saying that a "family of nations" is preferred to nationalism. The impediments to One World Totalitarian Government include Religious differences, and Nationalism among a few others. Notice this article directly says that "churchgoers" are somehow a problem, yet doesn't think that any other religions, are a problem? 80% if the country identifies themselves as being Christians. Thats a vast majority. How is that different than Hitler pointing out Jews? The author here seems to be saying the U.S. needs to "join the family of nations". I take that to mean this author is in favor of a single World Govt ruling over all nations and the nations obeying unquestionably. If I were a betting man, I'd bet this author is into the New Age movement in some shape or form.
