Grainne I don't even know how to say this to you nicely other then to say your naive. I don't think the animal rights movement arose because a bunch of people with nothing to do were sitting around and decided they needed an agenda That is exactly what has happened. People with no more clue about animals then the man in the moon start reading and assuming they know what is going on and the protest begins. Grainne I don't think you have ever been to a dairy farm. I am certain you've never milked a cow. Yet you are an expert on factory farming. How is that? What is a factory farm? What is a family farm? How do I determine which is which? I can tell you this. I grew up milking cows on a farm that had 35 cows. They were happy and so were we. I farmed until I quit and at our peak milked 95 cows with about 270 young stock around. They were happy and so were we. Was that a factory farm? I don't know because every cow had a number and name and I knew every one of them. Every damn one of them was halter trained and could be led. I doubt you would know this but you don't lead a 1600 pound animal unless it wants to be led. I say this as kindly as I can but you and most all of your animal rights folk know nothing of which they speak. It's truly sad because you don't realize how f-ing absurd you folks look to us that do deal with these animals your trying to save. Matters not if it's wild life you've never met or cows you've never met or veal you've never seen, you've seen a film so you know, and there is nothing I can do that will change your mind. The folks who proclaim to be caring are in fact clueless and to us folks that actually deal with animals you've never met that you want to save, well we are confused on how in the hell you and I can ever talk and have a meeting of the minds. It's mind numbing. Oh and if we can all judge one another, you need to get your pooch under control. Digging in garbage is a no no. But your going to have a real hard time dealing with that while sleeping with the animal because once you sleep in the same bed with them there is no alpha, which should be you by the way. Rule 1 of raising children and dogs is there must be an alpha and that is something folks who are the most sensitive seem to have the hardest time with. I say that with a grin but also with the wisdom of a dog trainer. Don't believe me? Talk to any trainer, any where. Serious.
