The Bible NEVER mentions any specific dates, and was written almost 2000 years ago. To assume the apostles or early Christian establishment were predicting 1900 years in the future, even assuming they have amazing precog psychic powers, which they didn't, and christ never said they did. is absolutely absurd to imagine. Yet entire evengelical and cult faiths are based on this kind of BS. Always have, since the 1st century. Mostly in order to scare people and hoodwink them out of their money.

Let's face it, anyone who says the Bible can be taken literally is irrational and probably a nut. Even if you TRIED to take it literally, there are limitless amounts of interpretations possible, plus hundreds of contradictions. Also we know some of the books were not written by the people they claim to be written by and the whole Bible has been rewritten several times, and continues to be rewritten.

All in all, it's just a book. Though a very special book. and it's not possible to fact-check any of it. Also, 2000 years ago let's face it, people had very primitive minds and were extremely ignorant and superstitious about the way the physical world works. For instance, they had no idea the world was round and that Earth was even a planet.
