My friend in valdosta georgia was ripping out granite to put in corian - he said they would see corian advertised in better homes and gardens - they were not doing it for RESALE purposes - they were doing it for IMAGE purposes - to be part of the fashion trend - like the 600 dollar jeans article I posted earlier. He was very thankful for it though, it made him and some other cabinet/countertop men a lot of money.

Maybe the dumb rednecks in south ga don't know granite is better than corian - but he redid probably over 200 houses and almost always he told me it was to get CORIAN. One time he went into some kitchen that had some kind of Italian Marble I guess - I don't know the business like he did - but the lady had read that corian was great stuff - so he ripped up this kitchen that was worth a ton and put in the cheaper corian kitchen - he said it made him feel like he was ripping up the mona lisa and hanging a walmart reprint in its place - but the customer is always right. One of my sisters made great money - the other is flat broke now - but even the one making great money always spent more than she made - so she still had to dip into sick fathers retirement - if she made 200 million she would spend 300 million - just how she is - totally self absorbed in her own material world. I am thankful to say though I don't meet many people that have her level of self indulgence at the cost to others. It has cost our family dearly a couple of times in the past, I appreciate your words - but my patience for people like her has just run out. She is teaching her 2 daughters to be the same way - self serving no matter who they have to use - it makes me sad.

My mom bought the grand daughter a used buick regal - 10K - until she had a wreck or 2 to let her damage a safe car, but this made granddaughter cry - that was not what she wanted - so my father had to get 30+K brand new toyota celica with all the fixins - this makes me bitter. If he had millions I could see better logic to it than I do now that he is literally killing himself to give them extra nice material things. He asked me for some money so he could get his medicine - I gave it to him last year, after I found out about that car (which he initially kept from me) I told him I could not support shopping machine women that use people for material fashion betterment - he said I am a dick - hehe. I told him go have your granddaughter sell that car, buy a used one and give you your money back so you can buy your medicine - he said that is not possible because he does not want to HURT her FEELINGS - well I said OK - die then - and I really think he is going too. What causes this in people? To support the wastefullness of another to the point of thier own death? What is the big deal if princess only gets a few year old buick regal versus the latest model toyota celica with 8K in upgrades?
