Info sent to me indicates 1,580 soldiers enlisted in the Army last month. We have 1,700 recruiting stations. That is less than one man per.
I believe this is the lowest monthly number of enlistees in decades or longer. The FY 2005 active duty recruiting goal is 6,667 per month.

I visited one of our recruiting stations day before yesterday. Morale is in the dirt.

No April recruiting figure released yet for the reserves. I do have this clip. "As of end of the April reporting period, Recruiting Command accessed 7,283 Soldiers for the U.S. Army Reserve, 79 percent of the year-to-date mission. The Fiscal Year 2005 Army Reserve recruiting mission is 22,175."

Did you see the discrepancy? We have completed 7 months of the FY. The Army Reserves need 12,936 enlistees to be on track. They enlisted 7,283 so far and called it 79%. It is really 56%.
