Seriously? There were enough kids who died so that it was noticeable?

The first time I heard of a kid dying was when I was 19 and in college, teaching swimming for extra money. A little girl in one of my classes who was strange from the get go died from encephalitis. I was in shock.....in my experience, it is very unusual to see a child die.
