No, the turkey got to the other side of the road, just like he intended to. (VBG!) I'm not sure I want to go turkey hunting because I like having them in the neighborhood more than I like eating them. We have a lot of California quail here too, and I've found two nests in my back yard. I tried feeding them some deer corn, but I think it's too big for them to handle. I'm trying to provide some cover for them, but have a ways to go before they will prefer my yard to alternatives. It is fun to watch them, though. I have some neat pictures that I took through the window. My dog, a Springer Spaniel, is very interested in them as you might imagine, but when she caught one we released it and it ran off unhurt.

I agree with you, a little humility is very becoming.
