<Lessons we've learned - or should have - in Vietnam>

The article had the usual common sense retrospective on what should have happened in Vietnam. The lesson no one ever talks about or dares to is ...if you want to commit all your armed services in a war, then get out of the way and let them win it.

My opinion is that the war would have been over in two years had the military been cut loose to finish it and drive North. Having said that, God knows what we would have done once we had "won it".
And, the saddest thing of all... well over half our casualties were caused by not letting the military try and win the war. To me, the strategy of the guys in Washington was tragic and unforgivable.

They are doing the same thing once again in Iraq - our guys are sitting ducks. I wonder if Karl Rove's kids have enlisted yet?
