Gus > To be frank, I suspect the whole story is but a hoax spun by the Christian Right.

"Dogma" isn't your middle name by any chance, is it?

>>Michael Powel, a neurosurgeon at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, in London told the BBC he had not seen anything similar in his 25 years working in the specialty. <<

I actually worked at that hospital so I can vouch it is genuine and not a Christian Right hoax.

portal.telegraph.co.uk

>>Dr Jamil Ahmed, who has been treating Mr Herbert for the past two and a half years, said that he and Mrs Herbert had never given up on him even though other experts had repeatedly told her there was "no hope". Three months ago, Dr Ahmed had started Mr Herbert on a new medication that he hoped might improve his brain functions, but the doctor said he was still shocked by the extent of his revival.

He said the last time he had seen Mr Herbert, his patient was drooling, unresponsive and was "almost in the persistent, vegetative coma state".<<

Jamil Ahmed doesn't sound like a Christian Right Winger to me.

I told you there's a lot they don't know about the brain but you don't/won't believe me.
