If you define 'waste' as "unnecessary, ineffective or inappropriate federal programs" then I'm with you.


We mostly agree. We may disagree which ones to cut. Lets make a deal that it only takes one of the two of us to determine the program is wasteful. Then it gets cut.

I'll start: The whaler's museum funding is wasteful. it should be cut. There, we saved $8M.

Perhaps the better idea I had a few years ago is to resurrect a budget from an year in which the budget was balanced. (I mean really balanced, not including spending the SS Tax excess.) We then use that budget as the baseline for the current budget. There might be some waste in it, but many additional years of cumulative waste will be wiped away immediately.
