I really developed a taste for Tlingit art when I was in Juneau.

A colleague's wife ran a big native art wholesale business, and knew almost all of the native artists in Alaska. He said artistic talent was far more common among natives than the white population.

I've watched totems being carved. It is a fascinating process.
