Re: Unwanted processes --

I'm running WinXP and when I do the three-finger salute I find a whole lot of incomprehensible processes running on my box.

One in particular has me baffled. It is "csrss.exe". When I tried to search Google to find out what this was, I came up with this:

trendmicro.com

Being slightly paranoid about spyware, worms, viruses and the modern computer environment in general, I didn't immediately take Trend Micro at their word.

Does anyone here have any good recommendation on how to assess all the various .exes running in the background on a WinXP system in order to determine which are benign and which ought to terminated with extreme prejudice?
