The trouble is that the government has financed most of the
budget deficit short term. Lots to foreigners, and the bulk of
it comes due this year. I don't see how some kind of crisis
can be avoided. The 51 billion Auction is next week, with only
11 billion new funds, 40 billion rotation. We'll see how it
goes! If the Fed has to buy it, there will be excessive
printing. If foreigners don't want to rotate, after 30%
losses in 2 years, and then some, the dollar will go South,
and the rates will rise. Got debt crisis?
