Settlements may have been a big mistake but not for the reasons you state. Settlements which will be kept are attached to israel--they are suburbs. The rest of the West Bank over 90% is Jew free as marcos likes to say. Judea and Samaria nonsense never happened. It was a dream that even Likud gave up quite early in the game. Settlements were originally instituted to get the arab states to make peace and bargain. That didnt work. Now all but the contiguous settlements on the israeli side of the fence are for sale for peace. Every time the pals turn peace down, contiguous takes on a different meaning as facts on the ground change. Israel had already offered other land as compensation in 2000. mike
