Spotted,

I never realized Ontario mfg was in so much trouble. They're already at 2001 levels. Already there! So, like, it's not a trip we have to make. No, now we *start* at 2001 levels and degenerate from there.

I guess I had the impression there was higher capacity utilization. Some good military spending would fix that. What Canada needs is to catch some Russian sub (you know they're there) mapping Canada's northern seas and their seabeds for oil, minerals.

Whip up a fancy budget, kick Nortel and Bombardier back in to action. Replace all the subs with new ones. I can almost feel the hum off the factory floor as I type this.

I always thought that he must of been thinking of politicians when he said: 'The devil makes quick work of idle hands'

They've been pimpin everyone else's ride for so long, having someone pimp their ride would wake them up.

Countries need projects to create infrastructure to improve productivity.

They're building a new bridge here, as the old one rolled over on us:

I met an engineer who told me this bridge (click the link below for a drawing) is 2/3 the size of the Golden Gate Bridge

The two towers are the highest civil enginering project in the US in 25yrs.

When I heard that, I thought. Man, we don't build anymore. We have this 1970's era infrastructure that we hobble along with. Meanwhile the Chinese deply latest technology. At least the US has the war machine to create manufacturing stimulus, but Canada needs it too
