"Today - Israel has now expropriated over 70% of the West Bank and when the "Green Line" (the border between Palestine and Israel) is closed, West Bank residents cannot cross into Israel and East Jerusalem, or travel between "Area A" islands from one West Bank town to another. Even when the Line is open, Palestinians must have a permit to cross it. Unemployment remains high, and imports and exports are restricted. The Palestinian National Authority's record is increasingly suspect, with allegations of corruption, human rights abuses and press censorship. In the meantime, settlement continues. There are now more than 250 Israeli colonies and sites built in the West Bank, including Palestinian East Jerusalem.
