There is such a blood test. It is called "Triple Blood Screen" which is meant to assess whether a pregnant woman is going to have a Down's Syndrome baby. It's a joke. And its interpretation makes you put on a Sherlock hat AND a Cassandra hat -g-

Before the test, lab makes you sign a paper that says "I know that this test notices only 60% of Down's cases and if I am in the remaining 40%, that's my tough luck". Then you get a cryptic result that says your CHANCES are something like 1/500, 1/300, whatever. Now you know as much as you knew before, AND you know that the test doesn't even see 40% of bad apples.

Pathetic little demonstration of our level in biochemistry...
