If they could see Vietnam today -- with millions of Vietnamese going about their business and building their country and raising their families in peace -- they might say it was worth the cost in order that they might be free. The cost was ours to decide -- we decided that the price of their freedom would be very high indeed -- 5 million dead is a steep price for a relatively small country. But they paid the price and earned the right to be free of foreign domination -- that is something.
