Documents Detail DeLay Excursion

According to new documents, the Wall Street Journal reports a "lobbyist-organized" trip by Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX) "to Scotland in 2000 may have been chiefly recreational and contrary to House rules."

Though the trip "was billed as an effort to promote an exchange of ideas with British conservatives," the new information "suggests instead that recreation was the primary purpose of going to Scotland, and the excursion appears more a gift and contrary to House rules defining 'necessary' travel expenses as not including 'entertainment or recreational activities.'"

Meanwhile, the Washington Post notes DeLay "delivered an emotional homily yesterday on the need for greater humility in public servants."
