re: At least with tire pressure monitors, you can point to a national need to conserve oil. Maybe even safety on the road, since I wonder how many cars out there with underinflated tires pose a risk to other cars. Seat belts? Only the occupants of that car are affected. If you want to nit pick, insurance rates. But I agree with you. John
