The Treasury Department this week reported there would be a $54 billion swing from projected deficit to surplus in the April-to-June quarter, after an unanticipated gush of tax payments poured into the Treasury before the April 15 deadline. From a purely political aspect (and that's the only angle which interests me) I can understand why the Democrats aren't saying a word.

But where in the world are the Republicans? Granted its a quarterly accomplishment, but still, after getting hammered forever about tax cuts and the deficit, where in the world are those PR slackards?
