you're plainly fantasizing. the dollar fiat money ponzi scheme is backed by nothing but CONfidence ( i've capitalized the 'con' to indicate it's a con-game, literally ) .
it is NOT backed by anything else ( if proof to the contrary exists in writing, i'd like to see it ) . if the market decides to reject the dollar as a means of payment, no goverment edict can possibly alter that.

"`I made an analysis about a year ago, asking myself what company is it almost impossible to see going bankrupt,'' Landaez, 50, said in a telephone interview from his home in Caracas. ``I decided to put my money into General Motors."

well , LOL. i sympathize with the man's misfortune, but he can't possibly have made an 'analysis' of anything. if he had, he'd have discovered that GM sports the biggest corporate debt and unfunded liabilites mountain in capitalist history. of all the major listed companies, this one has been the MOST likely to go bankrupt for quite some time now. and it certainly was already glaringly obvious a year ago.
