I'm tired of this "bad schools in the US" excuse that these executives use for not hiring here. The reason they aren't hiring here is because talent is cheaper offshore. Its a completely different motivation than they let on. The US has the best engineering schools in the world, and if the supply ever reached the levels that these guys are looking for (such that an excellent engineer could be had for say, 30K/year with no benefits)- top people wouldn't be interested. I can already see there is much less interest in engineering now than only 5 years ago by the new college entrants.
