Dunno.... I am of the school that the less said about one's "disabilities" and the more effort put into making the best of what you have the better. I just think there is far too much whining and blaming things on "disabilities" or stresses or traumas or magnetic fields or the alignment of the planets rather than just taking responsibility for one's actions (or lack thereof) and moving on.

One of the all-time greats on that list is the "Twinkie Defense", where some attorney in SF actually got a jury to buy that the reason why his client blew somebody's head off was because he was the poor victim of a Hostess Twinkie-induced sugar rush that made him temporarily irrational. So, of course he did what any decent, reasonable law-abiding citizen with any morals who eats Twinkies would do----picked up a shotgun, went gunning for somebody, and blew him away.

"The devil made me do it", "those Twinkies made me do it", or "my disability made me do it", whatever. The only relevant fact is you did it. Face it.

Seriously, this kind of thing is very thin ice, because if you can convince yourself it was not your fault, then you can justify anything. Then life becomes a process of simply identifying who or what was to blame for the things YOU did... no future in that, IMHO. (I mean "you" in the generic sense, of course)
