Scottrade will absolutely not permit the pink sheet purchase of any OTC stock which is also listed on either the TSX or the TSX Venture Exchange. They will (as company policy) force you to purchase your shares from the TSX or the TSX Venture Exchange instead. I speak from multiple trade experiences here. They will also accept such orders only by phone, at a whopping $27 commission per trade. I've taken the question of why this is so up the Scottrade ladder, and the answer is always that purchases must be made on the exchange of most volume, which inevitably is not the OTC pink sheet exchange. As to why this is so, I have no idea.

I've taken my OTC trading to "MB Trading", which has no qualms about online trading in OTC stocks, and has an OTC fixed rate of commission of only $8.95 per trade (whether done solo online, or via broker assisted phone trading).
