Since when has any enemy we've fought abided by the Geneva
Conventions?

Entirely? Likely none. Mostly? Quite a few. The Germans and Italians didn't do badly, although there were lapses.

But there were lapses by the US too. There are numerous written accounts of executions of surrendered unarmed POWs by US troops.

FWIW, I still think we should abide by it. We just shouldn't
let the libs artificially raise the bar ro high that we have
prisoners in hotel rooms with cable TV & room service.

The Conventions don't require anything like that. You don't even have to give them access to a radio or newspapers. You do have to provide some shelter (bunkhouses will do) and edible food and drinkable water. The International Red Cross is allowed to inspect. They are allowed to request to talk to an IRC representative. They are allowed mail. The mail can be inspected.

You can interrogate them. You can shout at them. You can lie to them. You can't torture them. You can't kill them unless they refuse to obey reasonable orders or attempt to escape.
