Hi Terry

Speaking of reports. Today there is rumor of a merger bet. E Trade and Ameritrade.

People are specualting as to whether or not this is a rumor and whether or not it is these two companies or possibly a merger of E Trade with another company or of AMTD with another company.

Several days ago I looked at the chart of AMTD and almost bought and decided not to. Today both had moves on the rumor. AMTD up about 50 cents and ET about 90 cents.

Today I decided to review the charts of the two and see if I could read the tea leaves a bit and intuit from some other clues the direction of the merger and if it was going to happen between these two.

I am not familiar with E Trade as I don't use it-----however they do make a profit. On the other hand AMTD is not profitable as E Trade. I use AMTD so have seen the changes they have made over the years.

My question is if you were considering a short term position in either of these in anticipation of a continued move before a merger which company would you consider taking a position in based on the charts.

I don't have a good charting system to show you comparisons and to copy so apologies that I can not provide you with the charts.

Rather than influence your thinking-------I will tell you what I think after you have had a chance to consider.

Thanks.
