Mish, they have excellent product at this time. In fact, there hardly is any area where Intel has a superior product with the possible exception of the Pentium M. However, even the M is not 64bit and the new Turion while potentially using slightly more power is a much better longer term investment.

Given the fact that AMD now has a better and more affordable product even in the server market, I would not consider this a POS. Now AMD still is saddled with its money losing flash operation but it will attempt to spin it of as soon as possible. I am not generally optimistic about chip companies but when David suddenly develops a one year lead over Goliath in this extremely competitive market then I have to notice. It also means AMD might suddenly do well even in a down market.

The fact that the new Dual Core chip can actually command a premium over Intel chips is a huge story for a company that generally had to offer everything at a major discount.

Obviously Intel is a huge and formidable competitor and may very well eat AMD's lunch down the line, however, at this time (the best time EVER for AMD) this is reasonably unlikely.

p.s. Even Microsoft is touting AMD, a major change from the past.
