I am amply familiar with the challenges facing the Vietnamese -- and for those people who are actually Vietnamese I wish them all the best in moving forward. For those who formerly were Vietnamese and who are now Americans or citizens of some other country -- I wish them all the luck in the world in getting on with their lives in their new homes. Perhaps some of them will regret not being Vietnamese any more and will create web sites to pretend they are still relevant to the political process -- such are the delusions of those who remain bitter at the loss of their identity as Vietnamese. But as for the Vietnamese themselves, I am sure they will work things out in their own way and in their own time. I doubt it would be worthwhile for the US to go back and kill another 5 million Vietnamese as our way of deciding their future for them.
