Grainette did not really miss the Cabbage Patch doll. Since she was only three--it could have been two, I'm not sure--and we had no tv by design, she was not aware of doll fads. And instead of that doll, we bought her a Corolle baby doll from France, that we still have in storage somewhere. I'm hoping she will have a little girl some day and I can buy it new clothes and get it cleaned up at the doll hospital. I like toys that last for several generations. We still have the Brio train set and very beautiful colored wooden blocks, and almost all of her baby books.
