Chuck Hagel (R) admits Iraq is a mess and filibusters important. Hagel on TV today proved himself one of of the last honest Republicans as he clearly stated: - We have little idea who the insurgents are or who is funding or organizing them (and so is Zarqawi a fabrication?) Clearly, he knows Bushies have been lying and spinning to us about Iraq. For instance only about 15% of the Iraqi forces Bush claims are trained can actually fight. - If we can't settle Iraq by next year it may be a lost cause. - With our military bogged down in Iraq we can't really respond to any other major conflict - Filibusters and all checks and balances in government are very important. - Unilateralism doesn't work (goodbye Bolton) - Bush's approach didn't work in North Korea and now they have nukes they won't give up. * Hagel is exactly what the GOP needs to cleanse itself. You guys can't keep lying and covering up the lies. The world knows. And it always catches up to you.
