You posted to Ionesco, but referred to me, ManyMoose. I don't know if she and I have similar opinions on pot, because I haven't read all of her posts. Mine is that drug abuse should be viewed as an addiction, and treated medically. I understand marijuana is a lot more potent recently than when I experienced it as a young woman, and I am concerned that it is a gateway drug and would be extremely concerned if my own child used it, but I don't think there is any danger of it bringing down our society or anything close to that.

It is much more likely that people commit crimes, including drunk driving, while using alcohol, a much more dangerous drug. Which brings up the point that alcohol and marijuana are similar in that for most people, they don't ever become an addiction.
