I am having trouble even finding another country besides the U.S. where rBGH is permitted. So I think generally you are definitely safe from it when you buy European cheeses. I'm sure you know these are reasonably priced at Trader Joe's! I found this good news about goat and sheep milk cheeses in general, as well: vpirg.org Cheese All cheeses from the European Union, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia are rBGH- free because rBGH is banned in those countries. All cheeses made from sheep or goat's milk are rBGH-free because rBGH cannot be used on sheep or goats.
