Once upon a time in America, such policy disputes were settled in elections or with votes in Congress. Once upon time they settled it with guns. Then they passed a rule that guns weren't allowed in Congressional chambers. Leaders of the parties use extortion and bribery to acquire votes. They prefer to call it negotiation and compromise. Senator Wyden and Republican Charles Grassley plan to re-introduce legislation next month to kill holds that are secret. Better yet would be to get rid of all Senate holds. They'll be lucky to get rid of the secret holds. jttmab
