Did you know there is a very serious epidemic of STDs among young people? Do you think public schools have no role in teaching preventive health practices? Or how to avoid pregnancy? I would agree that it would be nice if parents did this, but most don't. And unfortunately, as much as we would all like to believe our children are virgins until they marry, the statistics do not bear this out. Most teenagers are sexually active by the last years of high school, at the latest. And the misinformation they get from their peers is just incredible, and dangerous.
